An Industrial Mancooler Fan is a heavy-duty tubular axial fan mounted on an adjustable tilting-head pedestal — designed to deliver a high-velocity directed jet of ambient air at operators working in extreme heat environments near furnaces, converters, kilns, and presses where conventional fans are ineffective due to distance limitations.
Vayuvents manufactures industrial mancooler fans at our Vasai, Mumbai works from 450 mm (18 inch) to 915 mm (36 inch) diameter, providing 4,500 to 15,000 CFM of directed airflow with effective cooling throw distances of 10 to 25 metres. The tubular casing concentrates the entire fan output into a directed column — maintaining velocity at the operator position even at 20 to 25 metre distances where an open propeller fan would have negligible effect.
The tilting-head mechanism allows both vertical (up/down) and horizontal (left/right) angle adjustment to precisely target individual operator positions from a single fan location. The heavy-gauge pedestal base with anti-vibration feet provides stable, vibration-free operation on uneven foundry floors, steel plant platforms, and shipyard workshop floors.
Vayuvents has supplied man cooler fans to glass plants, steel mills, foundries, cement plants, and shipyards across India and exports to UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman.
Key Features & Benefits
Long-Throw Directed Jet
Tubular casing concentrates the full fan output into a directed high-velocity column — maintains effective cooling velocity at 15 to 25 metres distance from the fan to the operator.
Tilting Head
Both vertical (up-down) and horizontal (left-right) tilt adjustment on the fan head — precisely targets the operator at any workstation position from a single fan location.
Heavy-Duty Pedestal
Large-footprint heavy-gauge MS pedestal base with anti-vibration feet — stable operation on uneven industrial floors under heat, vibration, and mechanical impact.
Heat Stress Protection
Sustained high-velocity airflow at the operator's position reduces physiological heat strain — prevents heat exhaustion and maintains safe productive conditions near furnaces and hot processes.
High Airflow Output
4,500 to 15,000 CFM (7,600 to 25,500 m³/hr) — sufficient to create a personal cooling zone for operators at distances up to 25 metres in large industrial bays.
IP55 Motor
IP55 TEFC motor withstands the dusty, high-temperature ambient environment of foundries, glass plants, steel mills, and cement plants without motor damage.
Portable Wheeled Option
Wheeled base option for repositioning across production areas, furnace sections, and operator positions as shift requirements change.
IS 3588 Compliant
Fan performance tested per IS 3588 with airflow and motor power certificate supplied with every unit.

View Details →FAQs — Industrial Mancooler Fan
An industrial man cooler fan uses a tubular casing that concentrates the full fan output into a directed, long-throw jet maintaining high velocity at 15 to 25 metres. A standard pedestal fan uses an open propeller that disperses airflow in all directions — velocity falls rapidly with distance and the cooling effect at 10 to 15 metres is negligible. For operator cooling near furnaces and hot equipment where the fan must be placed 10 to 20 metres away for safety, only a man cooler fan delivers effective cooling airflow.
For glass plant IS machine operators typically 10 to 15 metres from the fan, the MC-200 (32 inch, 2 HP) providing 10,800 CFM with 20 metre effective throw is recommended. For blast furnace tapping platforms where operators may be 15 to 20 metres from the fan, the MC-300 (36 inch, 3 HP) at 15,000 CFM with 25 metre throw is required. Vayuvents specifies the correct model based on your specific workstation distances.
For a foundry with 4 to 6 induction furnaces, typically 2 to 3 man cooler fans are required — one covering the charging side and one covering the tapping/pouring side. For forge shops, one man cooler fan per press station is the standard recommendation. Vayuvents can assess the layout and recommend optimal fan placement and quantity for your specific facility.
Yes. Man cooler fans are used to pre-cool ship tanks, heat exchangers, and vessel interiors before confined space entry. The fan is positioned at the entry opening directing cool ambient air inside. Temperature must be verified with a calibrated thermometer before entry — the man cooler fan reduces temperature but does not replace gas testing requirements.
IP55 TEFC motors are standard. For positions where the ambient temperature around the fan itself exceeds 60°C (close to furnace taphole, BOF charging floor), belt-drive man cooler fans with the motor positioned away from the hot zone are recommended. Class F motor insulation is standard; Class H is available for positions with sustained 60 to 80°C ambient temperature.
Yes. Vayuvents exports industrial man cooler fans to UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. We supply with motors rated for 50°C ambient temperature, 415V 50Hz, and full export documentation including certificate of origin and IS 3588 test certificate.
