Marine Bug Blower — Manufacturer & Supplier, India
Vayuvents manufactures Marine Bug Blowers with anti-corrosion marine-grade coating, IP55/IP56 motor, and SS hardware for ship, port, shipyard, and offshore applications. IS 4894 compliant. Mumbai. Call +91 90961 88703.
A Marine Bug Blower is a purpose-built, anti-corrosion version of the standard industrial bug blower — engineered to survive the aggressive salt spray, high humidity, and water exposure of shipboard, port, and offshore coastal environments where standard MS painted equipment corrodes rapidly.
Vayuvents marine bug blowers are supplied with epoxy primer plus polyurethane topcoat paint system rated for salt spray per ISO 12944 C5-M (marine), stainless steel hardware throughout (no carbon steel fasteners exposed to the marine atmosphere), and IP55 or IP56 motor enclosure for resistance to water jets and salt spray ingress.
Marine bug blowers are used extensively on ships in port for cleaning electrical panel louvres, navigation instrument air intakes, engine room ventilation screens, and deck equipment — removing salt deposits, insects, and marine growth accumulated during the voyage without risk of water damage to sensitive equipment.
We supply to shipyards and ship operators in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Goa, and Chennai. ATEX-certified flameproof motor variants available for chemical tankers and gas carrier classified hazardous areas.
Key Features & Benefits
Marine-Grade Paint System
Epoxy primer + polyurethane topcoat rated ISO 12944 C5-M for marine salt spray service — resists corrosion in coastal shipyard and vessel environments.
Full SS Hardware
Stainless steel 316 fasteners, nuts, bolts, and brackets throughout — no carbon steel exposed to the marine atmosphere to create galvanic corrosion.
IP55/IP56 Motor
IP56 water jet resistant motor enclosure for direct deck use in rain, hose wash-down, and sea spray conditions aboard vessels and in shipyards.
High-Velocity Cleaning Jet
20 to 40 m/s directed airjet penetrates electrical louvres, ventilation screens, and deck equipment recesses — removes insects and salt deposits effectively.
Compact Shipboard Design
Compact body dimensions and wheeled base for movement across multiple deck levels and through narrow passageways on vessels during port cleaning operations.
ATEX Option
Flameproof Ex-d motor variant available for classified hazardous deck areas on chemical tankers, gas carriers, and oil tankers where solvent or gas atmospheres exist.
415V & 230V Supply
415V 3-phase for shore power or ship's auxiliary supply; 230V single-phase for portable generator use during dry dock and port maintenance operations.
IS 4894 Compliant
Fan performance tested per IS 4894. Marine construction tested per shipyard and classification society material requirements.

A bug blower is a motor-driven fan unit that produces a sustained high-velocity directed airstream at 20 to 40 m/s through a nozzle. Unlike a compressed air gun that draws from a finite compressed air reservoir and depletes it quickly, a bug blower produces continuous airflow for as long as it runs — making it far more economical for cleaning large surfaces such as vehicle bodies, ship decks, and factory equipment. It also produces cleaner, oil-free air compared to most compressed air systems.
Bug blowers are effective for removing: loose insects and bug splatter from vehicle, aircraft, and ship surfaces before washing; salt deposits and dust from electrical louvres and panel faces; lint and fluff from textile machinery; grain chaff and insect infestations from grain handling equipment; solder balls and flux residue from PCB assemblies; dust from transformer cooling fins and electrical panel internals; and pre-paint dust and debris from industrial component surfaces.
Yes, with appropriate construction selection. Standard MS bug blowers are used in general food factory areas. For high-care zones (open product areas, ready-to-eat manufacturing), Vayuvents supplies bug blowers in SS304 construction with food-safe paint and oil-free sealed bearings — meeting FSSAI hygiene requirements for food processing equipment. The air-only blowdown method is preferred in food areas because it avoids water or chemical contact with product or machinery.
A marine bug blower has an anti-corrosion epoxy primer plus polyurethane topcoat paint system rated for salt spray, stainless steel hardware throughout (no carbon steel fasteners), and an IP55 or IP56 motor enclosure for the high-humidity salt-laden coastal and shipboard environment. Standard MS bug blowers would corrode rapidly in marine service. Vayuvents supplies marine-grade bug blowers as standard for all coastal, shipyard, and vessel supply.
Yes. Paint spray booths are classified Zone 1 hazardous areas under IS/IEC 60079 due to the flammable solvent vapour atmosphere during spraying. Any electrical equipment operating inside the spray booth — including bug blowers used for pre-paint surface blowdown inside the booth — must have IS 5572 / ATEX certified flameproof Ex-d motors and non-sparking impellers. Vayuvents supplies flameproof bug blower fans specifically for paint booth service.
Standard Vayuvents bug blowers are supplied in 415V 3-phase 50Hz for workshop and factory fixed installation. For portable service and locations where 3-phase is not available, 230V single-phase versions are supplied for smaller fan sizes. Battery-powered portable variants are available on request for use in locations without fixed power supply — aircraft apron, ship dry dock, and outdoor construction site applications.
