An Aluminium Casting Impeller is a fan impeller produced by precision die-casting or gravity casting of aluminium alloy — the standard impeller manufacturing method for industrial axial fans from 300 mm to 1,220 mm diameter. Vayuvents uses LM6 (Al-Si12) alloy for most fan diameters, providing excellent castability for complex blade profile geometries, adequate mechanical strength, and inherent corrosion resistance without surface coating.
The casting process allows aerodynamically optimised blade profiles — including twisted blade designs that cannot be produced economically by sheet metal fabrication — to be reproduced with high consistency across a production run. Each impeller is dynamically balanced to ISO 1940 G6.3 after casting and machining to ensure smooth, vibration-free operation throughout the service life.
Vayuvents supplies aluminium casting impellers both as integral components of new axial fans and as spare parts for replacement in existing fans from any manufacturer. For spare part orders, share the existing impeller diameter, hub bore size, keyway dimensions, number of blades, and blade angle — Vayuvents will supply a matched replacement.
High-temperature aluminium alloy options available for impellers operating in airstreams up to 200°C — heat treatment hardened LM25-T6 or special alloy for elevated temperature service.
Key Features & Benefits
Precision Die-Cast Blades
Consistent aerodynamic blade profiles with smooth surface finish — better fan efficiency and lower noise than hand-fabricated sheet metal impellers.
G6.3 Dynamic Balance
ISO 1940 Grade G6.3 dynamic balancing after casting — ensures smooth, vibration-free fan operation and long bearing life.
Non-Sparking Aluminium
Aluminium alloy is non-sparking — suitable for Zone 2 hazardous areas and moderately flammable atmosphere ventilation (gas groups IIA and IIB).
Corrosion Resistant
LM6/LM25 aluminium alloys resist indoor industrial atmosphere corrosion without surface coating — suitable for decades of service in standard environments.
Spare Parts Available
Replacement impellers matched to existing fan shaft dimensions — hub bore, keyway, blade count, and diameter matched to your existing fan.
High-Temp Option
LM25-T6 heat-treatment hardened alloy for impellers in airstreams up to 200°C — boiler, furnace, and process high-temperature service.
Wide Diameter Range
300 mm to 1,830 mm — covers the full range of industrial axial fan sizes from small ventilation fans to large cooling tower impellers.
IS 3588 Compliant
All impellers manufactured and balanced per IS 3588-1987. Balance certificate per ISO 1940 supplied.

Frequently Asked QuestionsFAQs — Aluminium Casting Impeller
A die-cast aluminium impeller is manufactured by injecting molten aluminium alloy under high pressure into a precision die — producing an impeller with highly consistent blade angles, wall thickness, and hub dimensions. The advantages over fabricated sheet metal impellers are: (1) better dimensional accuracy giving more consistent airflow performance; (2) smoother blade surfaces with lower aerodynamic noise; (3) better inherent balance due to consistent casting density; (4) higher strength-to-weight ratio; (5) corrosion resistance without painting for most indoor applications.
Vayuvents die-cast aluminium impellers are typically cast in LM6 (Al-Si12) or LM25 (Al-Si7Mg) alloy — both established fan impeller alloys that combine high fluidity for complex blade profile casting, adequate strength for fan operating loads, and good corrosion resistance. For high-temperature applications (above 150°C), high-silicon or heat-treatment-hardened aluminium alloys are used.
Polypropylene impellers are preferred when: (1) the airstream contains corrosive chemicals that attack aluminium — hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, most organic acids; (2) the application requires non-metallic, non-sparking impeller for certain hazardous atmosphere classifications; (3) weight reduction is important for very large impellers; (4) cost is the primary selection criterion for lower-duty applications. PP impellers are limited to temperatures below 60°C continuous service.
Yes. Vayuvents supplies replacement aluminium casting and polypropylene impellers for existing fans from any manufacturer — matched to the fan shaft diameter, hub bore, keyway, blade diameter, blade angle, and number of blades. Provide the existing impeller dimensions or the fan model number and Vayuvents will supply a matched replacement. Balancing grade G6.3 or better is standard for all replacement impellers.
Vayuvents fan impellers are dynamically balanced to ISO 1940 Grade G6.3 as standard — this is the standard grade for fans as specified in IS 3588. For fans requiring lower vibration levels (precision ventilation, HVAC, instrumentation air), Grade G2.5 balancing is available on request.
A load bank is an electrical resistor assembly used to test generator sets and UPS systems under artificial electrical load. The resistors dissipate the test load as heat — which must be forced-air cooled to prevent resistor burn-out. A load bank cooling fan forces air through the resistor matrix at sufficient velocity to remove the heat dissipated at full test load. Without adequate cooling, the resistors overheat and fail, limiting the generator test to partial load only.
