Polypropylene Fan Impeller — Manufacturer & Supplier, India
Vayuvents manufactures Polypropylene (PP) Fan Impellers for chemical fume, acid exhaust, and corrosive atmosphere axial and centrifugal fans. 300 mm to 1,200 mm dia. IS 3588 compliant. Mumbai. Call +91 90961 88703.
A Polypropylene (PP) Fan Impeller is an injection-moulded thermoplastic impeller used in axial and centrifugal fans handling corrosive chemical fumes, acid vapours, alkali mists, and other chemical atmospheres that would rapidly corrode aluminium or MS impellers. Polypropylene offers excellent chemical resistance to HCl, H₂SO₄, HNO₃ (dilute), NaOH, and most organic acids and solvents at temperatures below 60°C.
Vayuvents manufactures PP impellers from 300 mm to 1,200 mm diameter in injection-moulded polypropylene homopolymer (PPH) — the chemically most resistant PP grade. The impeller is dynamically balanced after moulding to ISO 1940 G6.3. Anti-static PP grades are available for applications where electrostatic charge accumulation is a concern.
PP impellers are the standard choice for chemical plant acid fume extraction fans, laboratory exhaust fans, electroplating shop exhaust fans, swimming pool and water treatment plant ventilation, and pharmaceutical scrubber exhaust fans — wherever the chemical nature of the airstream precludes metallic impeller materials.
Replacement PP impellers available as spare parts for existing chemical exhaust fans. FRP (fibre-reinforced plastic) impeller alternative available for higher temperature service up to 120°C.
Key Features & Benefits
Chemical Resistance
PP resists HCl, H₂SO₄, HNO₃ (dilute), NaOH, and most organic acids and solvents — impeller life measured in years where metallic impellers fail in weeks.
Non-Sparking & Non-Metallic
Polypropylene is inherently non-sparking and non-metallic — suitable for applications where metal impellers are excluded by process safety requirements.
Lightweight
PP density (0.90 g/cm³) significantly lower than aluminium (2.70 g/cm³) — reduces bearing loads and motor current at the same fan diameter and speed.
60°C Continuous Rating
PPH (polypropylene homopolymer) is rated for continuous service up to 60°C airstream temperature — covers most chemical plant exhaust service.
Anti-Static Option
Carbon-loaded anti-static PP grade for applications requiring electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection — chemical processing with ignitable solvent vapours.
Spare Parts Supply
Replacement PP impellers matched to existing fan shaft bore and diameter — available for replacement in any make of chemical exhaust fan.
FRP Alternative
FRP (fibre-reinforced plastic) impeller alternative for chemical service above 60°C up to 120°C — same corrosion resistance with higher temperature rating.
IS 3588 Compliant
Impeller performance per IS 3588-1987. Dynamic balance G6.3 certificate supplied.

A die-cast aluminium impeller is manufactured by injecting molten aluminium alloy under high pressure into a precision die — producing an impeller with highly consistent blade angles, wall thickness, and hub dimensions. The advantages over fabricated sheet metal impellers are: (1) better dimensional accuracy giving more consistent airflow performance; (2) smoother blade surfaces with lower aerodynamic noise; (3) better inherent balance due to consistent casting density; (4) higher strength-to-weight ratio; (5) corrosion resistance without painting for most indoor applications.
Vayuvents die-cast aluminium impellers are typically cast in LM6 (Al-Si12) or LM25 (Al-Si7Mg) alloy — both established fan impeller alloys that combine high fluidity for complex blade profile casting, adequate strength for fan operating loads, and good corrosion resistance. For high-temperature applications (above 150°C), high-silicon or heat-treatment-hardened aluminium alloys are used.
Polypropylene impellers are preferred when: (1) the airstream contains corrosive chemicals that attack aluminium — hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, most organic acids; (2) the application requires non-metallic, non-sparking impeller for certain hazardous atmosphere classifications; (3) weight reduction is important for very large impellers; (4) cost is the primary selection criterion for lower-duty applications. PP impellers are limited to temperatures below 60°C continuous service.
Yes. Vayuvents supplies replacement aluminium casting and polypropylene impellers for existing fans from any manufacturer — matched to the fan shaft diameter, hub bore, keyway, blade diameter, blade angle, and number of blades. Provide the existing impeller dimensions or the fan model number and Vayuvents will supply a matched replacement. Balancing grade G6.3 or better is standard for all replacement impellers.
Vayuvents fan impellers are dynamically balanced to ISO 1940 Grade G6.3 as standard — this is the standard grade for fans as specified in IS 3588. For fans requiring lower vibration levels (precision ventilation, HVAC, instrumentation air), Grade G2.5 balancing is available on request.
A load bank is an electrical resistor assembly used to test generator sets and UPS systems under artificial electrical load. The resistors dissipate the test load as heat — which must be forced-air cooled to prevent resistor burn-out. A load bank cooling fan forces air through the resistor matrix at sufficient velocity to remove the heat dissipated at full test load. Without adequate cooling, the resistors overheat and fail, limiting the generator test to partial load only.
Contact Vayuvents at enquiry@vayuvents.com or call +91 90961 88703. For impellers, share the fan diameter, hub bore, blade angle, and number of blades. For load bank cooling fans, share the resistor bank power rating in kW, housing dimensions, and required air velocity. We will provide a matched selection and commercial proposal within 24 hours.
