Centrifugal Blower for Chemical Industry โ Manufacturer & Supplier
Vayuvents Pvt. Ltd. manufactures and supplies corrosion-resistant centrifugal blowers for the chemical industry โ covering process ventilation, chemical vapour extraction, acid fume exhaust, reactor off-gas handling, and compressed air supply across fertiliser, chlor-alkali, specialty chemical, and agrochemical manufacturing plants.
The chemical industry presents the most diverse range of corrosive environments โ from mild organic vapours to concentrated mineral acids, chlorine gas, hydrogen sulphide, ammonia, and oxidising agents. No single material is resistant to all chemical environments, and the correct blower material must be matched to the specific chemical and its concentration.
Vayuvents supplies PP blowers for most acid and alkali fume applications, FRP for higher structural requirements, SS316L for oxidising acids and pharmaceutical-grade applications, and MS with appropriate coatings for mild chemical environments. We have built a materials database from 20+ years of supplying chemical industry clients across India and the Middle East.
We work with process engineers and project managers at chemical plants to specify the correct blower for each process stream โ considering chemical composition, concentration, temperature, and flow rate.
How It Works in This Application
Process Vapour Generation
Chemical reactors, storage tanks, distillation columns, and process vessels generate vapours and off-gases that must be safely handled and exhausted.
Vapour Capture and Collection
Collection hoods, tank vents, and reactor off-gas headers capture process vapours in a closed ductwork system connected to the centrifugal blower.
Transport to Treatment
The blower draws vapour-laden air through the collection system to a wet scrubber, condenser, thermal oxidiser, or direct exhaust stack depending on the regulatory requirements.
Treatment and Compliance
Treated off-gases meeting environmental emission standards are exhausted to atmosphere through a stack at sufficient height for dispersion.
Recommended Variants
PP Centrifugal Blower
Polypropylene construction for most mineral acid fumes, alkali vapours, and general chemical vapour applications.
Most RecommendedFRP Centrifugal Blower
Fibreglass construction for higher-temperature or higher-pressure chemical vapour applications requiring greater strength than PP.
SS316L Centrifugal Blower
Stainless steel for oxidising acids, concentrated nitric acid, and pharmaceutical-grade chemical vapour handling.
ATEX Certified Blower
Spark-resistant construction with ATEX/flameproof motor for flammable chemical vapour and solvent environments.

FAQs
PP (polypropylene) blowers are suitable for most mineral acid and alkali fume applications at temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius and for moderate-size blowers up to approximately 15,000 m3/hr. FRP blowers provide higher structural strength for larger sizes and temperatures up to 90 degrees Celsius, and are more suitable for higher-pressure applications. For concentrated sulphuric acid or nitric acid, neither PP nor FRP is suitable and SS316L is required.
Dry chlorine gas can be handled by PP blowers at ambient temperature. Wet chlorine gas (chlorine dissolved in water) is more corrosive and may attack PP at higher concentrations. For high-concentration wet chlorine, FRP or SS316L with appropriate gaskets is recommended. Please specify your chlorine concentration and whether it is wet or dry when requesting a quote.
PP centrifugal blowers are suitable for continuous service up to 60 degrees Celsius. Above this temperature, PP begins to soften and deform under the stresses of blower operation. FRP blowers handle up to 90 degrees Celsius, and SS316L handles up to 300 degrees Celsius. Vayuvents recommends the correct material based on your process temperature.
Yes. Vayuvents supplies PP and FRP centrifugal blowers for ammonia vapour extraction in fertiliser plants and cold storage refrigeration machine rooms. For high-concentration ammonia, SS316L or FRP construction is recommended. A flameproof motor is required if the ammonia concentration is above the Lower Explosive Limit.
Yes. Vayuvents supplies centrifugal blowers with ATEX-certified flameproof motors and spark-resistant impellers for solvent vapour and flammable chemical environments classified as Zone 1 or Zone 2 under IEC 60079 and IS 5572.
Yes. Vayuvents exports PP, FRP, and SS centrifugal blowers to UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman for chemical and petrochemical plant applications. We provide complete export documentation and can provide ATEX certification for international EPC contractor requirements.
