Centrifugal Blower for Pneumatic Conveying โ Manufacturer & Supplier
Vayuvents Pvt. Ltd. manufactures and supplies high-pressure centrifugal blowers for pneumatic conveying applications โ from small laboratory powder transfer systems to large industrial bulk material transport in cement, food, pharmaceutical, and chemical plants.
Pneumatic conveying uses pressurised or vacuum airflow to transport bulk materials through closed pipelines. In dilute-phase conveying, material is suspended in the airstream and transported at high velocity. The centrifugal blower provides the large volume of high-pressure air needed to maintain the material in suspension and overcome pipeline resistance.
Centrifugal blowers are used for dilute-phase pneumatic conveying where the air-to-material ratio is high and the material is light and free-flowing โ such as cement, fly ash, flour, sugar, rice, spices, and pharmaceutical powders. The blower generates the static pressure needed to overcome pipeline friction, bends, and elevation changes.
Vayuvents sizes pneumatic conveying centrifugal blowers based on the material to be conveyed, conveying distance, pipeline layout, and required throughput โ providing a matched blower selection for each application.
How It Works in This Application
Material Entry into Conveying Line
Bulk material is introduced into the conveying pipeline through a rotary valve, venturi, or blow tank at a controlled rate matched to the blower air supply.
Air-Material Mixing
The high-velocity airstream from the centrifugal blower picks up and suspends the material particles, forming the dilute-phase air-material mixture.
Transport Through Pipeline
The air-material mixture is transported through the conveying pipeline at velocities above the saltation velocity for the material, preventing settlement in the pipeline.
Separation at Destination
At the destination, the material is separated from the airstream in a cyclone or baghouse separator. The clean air exits through the filter to atmosphere.

FAQs
In dilute-phase pneumatic conveying, material is suspended in the airstream and transported at high velocity (typically 15 to 35 m/s). It requires a high-airflow centrifugal blower with sufficient static pressure to overcome pipeline resistance. The air-to-material ratio is typically 5:1 to 15:1 by weight. Vayuvents supplies centrifugal blowers sized for dilute-phase conveying based on your specific material and pipeline.
The minimum conveying velocity depends on the material being conveyed. Fine light powders like flour and cement can be conveyed at 15 to 18 m/s. Heavier materials like sand and rice require 20 to 30 m/s. Operating below the minimum velocity causes material settlement in the pipeline and blockage. Vayuvents designs blower capacity to maintain safe operating velocity throughout the conveying pipeline.
Centrifugal blowers can convey abrasive materials provided the impeller material is selected for abrasion resistance. For cement, fly ash, and mineral powders, hardened steel impellers are recommended. Vayuvents recommends positive displacement (roots) blowers for highly abrasive materials in dense-phase conveying as they provide better resistance to impeller wear.
Centrifugal blowers are used for dilute-phase conveying (high velocity, low material concentration) and provide large airflow at moderate pressure. Roots blowers provide constant pressure regardless of flow, making them suitable for dense-phase conveying (low velocity, high material concentration). The choice depends on the material and conveying system design.
Yes. Vayuvents supplies SS304 and SS316 centrifugal blowers with food-grade construction for flour, sugar, spice, and other food powder conveying. All internal surfaces are polished and free from crevices that could harbour contamination. Food-grade gaskets and seals are used throughout.
Cement pneumatic conveying in a typical 50m to 100m horizontal pipeline requires blower static pressure of 500 to 1,200 mmWG depending on pipeline diameter and bends. For longer pipelines or vertical lifts, higher pressure is required. Vayuvents calculates the required blower pressure based on your specific conveying system layout.
