How It Works in This Application
Fume Generation at Process
Chemical baths, reactors, paint shops, welding operations, and process equipment generate hazardous fumes that must be captured before they disperse into the workplace.
Hood and Duct Capture
Collection hoods positioned at fume source capture airborne vapours in the airstream drawn by the centrifugal blower through corrosion-resistant supply ductwork.
Transport to Treatment or Stack
The fume-laden airstream is transported through the collection ductwork to a wet scrubber, activated carbon bed, or direct exhaust stack.
Treatment and Safe Exhaust
In wet scrubbers, fumes are absorbed in water or chemical solution before the cleaned air is exhausted. For lower-concentration fumes, direct exhaust to a high-level stack may be compliant.

For hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, and chromic acid fumes (as in electroplating), PP (polypropylene) is the first choice — it is chemically resistant to most mineral acids and provides long service life at lower cost. For higher concentration or temperature acid fumes, FRP provides greater structural rigidity. For nitric acid or hydrofluoric acid, SS316L is recommended. Vayuvents advises on the correct material for your specific fume type.
Yes. PP and FRP blowers can handle fumes up to 60 degrees Celsius. For higher temperature fumes, SS316L or MS construction is required. For very high temperature fumes (above 200 degrees Celsius), special high-temperature insulated casing and bearing arrangements are needed.
