Cyclone Dust Collector for Woodworking — Manufacturer & Supplier
Vayuvents Pvt. Ltd. manufactures and supplies industrial cyclone dust collectors for woodworking dust separation applications across India and export markets.
Wood dust from saws, planers, routers, and sanders is combustible and a fire and explosion hazard. A cyclone as the primary stage removes 80 to 95 percent of the coarser sawdust and wood chips by weight before the air reaches the downstream bag filter.
This dramatically reduces the dust load on the bag filter — extending filter life, reducing cleaning frequency, and preventing premature blinding from sticky fine wood dust and resin particles generated by MDF and particleboard processing.
Vayuvents cyclone dust collectors for woodworking are in MS with anti-static earthing provisions and optional spark arrestor inlet for combustible sawdust applications.
How It Works in This Application
Wood Dust at Source
Saws, planers, moulders, and routers generate a mixture of coarse chips, medium sawdust, and fine wood flour that is carried in the extraction airstream.
Cyclone Pre-Separation
Dust-laden air enters the cyclone tangentially at high velocity, creating a spinning motion that throws coarser particles to the wall by centrifugal force.
Coarse Dust Collection
Heavy chips and sawdust spiral down the cone and fall into the collection hopper below — separated without blocking any filter media.
Fine Dust to Downstream Filter
The cleaned airstream carrying only very fine wood flour exits the cyclone top and passes to the bag filter for final polishing before exhaust.
Recommended Variants
Single Cyclone
Single-body cyclone for small to medium shops with a single extraction fan up to 5,000 m3/hr.
Most RecommendedMulti-Cyclone Battery
Multiple small cyclone cells in parallel for higher airflow with better separation efficiency.
Spark-Arrestor Cyclone
Tangential spark arrestor inlet for combustible sawdust where fire risk is a concern.
SS304 Cyclone
Stainless steel for hardwood and teak dust which can corrode standard MS construction.

Key Features
- No moving parts inside the cyclone body — zero maintenance consumables unlike bag filters
- Handles high-temperature dust streams up to 350°C where fabric bag filters cannot be used
- Handles abrasive, sticky, or hygroscopic dust where bag filters would blind quickly
- Compact vertical installation footprint suits tight industrial plant layouts
- MS, SS304, FRP, and PP construction options to match dust chemical properties
- Multi-cyclone battery arrangement for higher flow rates with better separation efficiency
- Dust discharge through rotary valve or manual dump valve into hopper or bag
- Works pressure drop test certificate with measured inlet/outlet static pressure data

FAQs
Dust-laden air enters tangentially at the top, spins in a helix, and heavier particles are thrown to the wall and spiral down into the hopper. Only finer particles exit with the cleaned air at the top. No filter media is used inside the cyclone — collection is purely by centrifugal force.
A cyclone captures 80 to 95 percent of dust by weight — removing all coarse chips and most sawdust. The fine wood flour below 10 microns requires a downstream bag filter. Vayuvents recommends cyclone as primary stage, bag filter as secondary stage.
Yes. Dry wood dust is combustible. Vayuvents provides earthing lugs and spark arrestor options for combustible dust woodworking applications as standard.
A small workshop with 5 machines typically requires 3,000 to 6,000 m3/hr extraction. A 600 to 800mm body diameter cyclone handles this range efficiently.
Yes. Coarse sawdust and wood chips from the cyclone hopper are suitable for use as biomass fuel in briquette presses or direct-fired furnaces.
No moving parts — maintenance is periodic hopper emptying (daily to weekly), annual body inspection, and checking flanged connections for air leakage.
