Motorised Roof Ventilator for Warehouse โ Manufacturer & Supplier
Vayuvents Pvt. Ltd. manufactures and supplies motorised roof ventilators for warehouse rooftop heat extraction and fresh air supply across logistics parks, e-commerce distribution centres, cold chain staging areas, and industrial storage warehouses.
Large-span warehouses accumulate heat rapidly during daytime hours from solar gain through the roof, heat from electric forklift charging stations, and heat from goods received from outdoor environments. Without powered roof ventilation, the internal temperature can exceed outdoor ambient by 8 to 12 degrees Celsius, creating uncomfortable and in some cases unsafe conditions for warehouse workers.
Motorised roof ventilators positioned at the roof ridge extract the hottest accumulated air directly from the highest point of the building โ the most energy-efficient location for heat extraction. Working in combination with wall-mounted supply fans or natural air inlet louvres, they create a balanced through-flow ventilation system.
Vayuvents has supplied motorised roof ventilators to logistics parks, e-commerce warehouses, and industrial storage facilities across Mumbai, Pune, NCR, and Bengaluru.
How It Works in This Application
Solar Heat Gain
Solar radiation heats the warehouse roof structure, which in turn heats the air immediately below the roof by radiation and convection, creating a hot air layer.
Forklift and Goods Heat
Electric forklift battery charging and heat from goods brought in from hot outdoor environments adds to the internal heat load throughout the working day.
Roof Ventilator Extraction
Motorised roof ventilators positioned at the roof ridge draw the accumulated hot air upward and discharge it to atmosphere above roof level, removing the hot air layer.
Fresh Air Replacement
Fresh ambient air enters through wall louvres or supply fans at dock doors and sidewalls, replacing the exhausted hot air and completing the ventilation cycle.
Recommended Variants
Standard Roof Ventilator
Direct-drive axial impeller for continuous fresh air exhaust from warehouse rooftops โ most common warehouse configuration.
Most RecommendedVFD-Controlled Roof Ventilator
Variable speed fan controlled by thermostat for energy-efficient operation โ runs at reduced speed when temperature is lower.
Centrifugal Roof Exhaust Fan
Centrifugal impeller for warehouses with internal ductwork connecting storage areas below to the roof exhaust point.
Corrosion-Resistant Roof Ventilator
SS or epoxy-coated GI construction for coastal warehouses and chemical storage facilities.

FAQs
The roof ventilator extracts hot air that has accumulated at the highest point of the warehouse ceiling โ which can be 8 to 12 degrees Celsius hotter than floor level. Continuous extraction of this hot air layer and replacement with cooler outdoor air maintains a much lower warehouse ambient temperature, improving worker comfort, productivity, and in some cases protecting temperature-sensitive stored goods.
A 10,000 sq m warehouse with 10m height has a volume of 1,00,000 m3. At 10 to 15 air changes per hour, the required exhaust airflow is 10,00,000 to 15,00,000 m3/hr. Depending on the roof ventilator size selected (typically 15,000 to 30,000 m3/hr per unit), this requires 35 to 100 roof ventilators. Vayuvents provides a detailed calculation for your specific warehouse dimensions.
Natural (wind-driven) roof ventilators provide free operation with no running cost but give variable and generally lower airflow. Motorised roof ventilators provide consistent, reliable airflow regardless of wind conditions and are recommended for warehouses with significant heat loads, forklift operations, or where minimum temperature control is required. Vayuvents can supply both types and can advise on the appropriate choice for your warehouse.
Standard GI roof ventilators are not suitable for corrosive chemical vapours. For chemical warehouses, Vayuvents supplies SS304 or epoxy-coated GI roof ventilators with appropriate impeller materials. For highly corrosive vapours (acid fumes), a PP or FRP construction is required. The fan selection must be matched to the specific chemicals stored.
Yes. Vayuvents motorised roof ventilators are supplied with IP55 weatherproof motor enclosures and integral aluminium rain hoods that prevent rain from entering the factory when the fan is running or stopped. The fan is designed for continuous outdoor roof installation and operation in all Indian weather conditions including heavy monsoon rainfall.
The recommended approach is to install motorised roof ventilators for hot air exhaust at the roof ridge, and wall-mounted axial fans or natural louvre openings on the windward wall for fresh air supply. The roof ventilators create negative pressure inside the building that draws in fresh air through the supply openings. Vayuvents can design the complete supply-and-exhaust ventilation system for your warehouse.
