Hot Air Blower for Plastic Industry โ Manufacturer & Supplier
Vayuvents Pvt. Ltd. manufactures and supplies industrial hot air blowers for the plastic and PVC processing industry โ covering granule and pellet drying before moulding, PVC extrusion line hot air supply, thermoforming oven heating, shrink tunnel hot air, and pipe and profile extrusion preheating.
Moisture in plastic granules is a major cause of defects in injection moulded and extruded plastic products โ splay, bubbles, surface blistering, and reduced mechanical properties all result from insufficient granule drying before processing. Hygroscopic plastics including nylon (PA), PET, ABS, polycarbonate, and acetal must be dried to specific moisture levels before moulding.
Hot air blowers in plastic processing are used for both direct granule drying in hopper dryers and dehumidified air dryers, and for heating applications in thermoforming ovens, shrink tunnels, weld preheating, and plastic welding support. Each application has specific temperature and airflow requirements that Vayuvents matches to the production process.
We have supplied to injection moulding companies, PVC extrusion plants, and plastics manufacturers in Daman, Silvassa, Rajkot, and Ahmedabad โ understanding the specific moisture and temperature requirements of different plastic materials.
How It Works in This Application
Hygroscopic Moisture Absorption
Hygroscopic plastic granules (PA, PET, ABS, PC) absorb atmospheric moisture during storage and conveying, reaching moisture levels that cause processing defects if not removed before moulding.
Hot Air Drying
The hot air blower supplies heated air (typically 60 to 120 degrees Celsius) through a hopper dryer or desiccant dryer unit, flowing through the granule bed to absorb and carry away moisture.
Moisture Removal
The moisture-laden exhaust air from the dryer is either vented to atmosphere (hot air dryer) or passed through a desiccant rotor for dehumidification and recirculation (dehumidifying dryer).
Pre-Conditioned Granule Processing
Dried granules at the correct moisture level are fed to the injection moulding machine or extruder, producing parts free from moisture-related defects with full mechanical properties.

FAQs
Hygroscopic plastics that absorb moisture from the air and must be dried before moulding include: Nylon (PA) โ requires 0.2 percent or less moisture, PET โ 0.02 percent or less, Polycarbonate (PC) โ 0.02 percent or less, ABS โ 0.1 percent or less, and Acetal (POM) โ 0.2 percent or less. Non-hygroscopic plastics like PP, PE, and PS do not require drying in normal conditions.
Typical drying temperatures: Nylon (PA6) at 80 to 90 degrees Celsius for 4 to 6 hours, PET at 160 to 180 degrees Celsius for 4 to 6 hours, Polycarbonate (PC) at 120 to 125 degrees Celsius for 3 to 4 hours, ABS at 80 to 85 degrees Celsius for 2 to 3 hours. Vayuvents supplies hot air blowers across this full temperature range.
A hot air dryer simply heats ambient air and blows it through the plastic granule bed โ suitable for less hygroscopic plastics and in low-humidity conditions. A dehumidifying dryer (desiccant dryer) removes moisture from the air before heating it, providing much lower dew point inlet air โ essential for highly hygroscopic plastics like PET, PC, and PA in humid conditions. Vayuvents supplies blowers for both types.
Yes. Hot air blowers are used in PVC extrusion lines for: preheating PVC compound before feeding to the extruder, heating calibration dies, and in some cases for post-extrusion shape setting. PVC processing temperatures are typically 160 to 190 degrees Celsius and Vayuvents supplies hot air blowers rated for these temperatures.
The required airflow depends on the granule throughput, specific heat of the plastic, moisture content to be removed, and required drying time. As a rough guide, 3 to 5 m3/hr of air per kg/hr of granule throughput is typical for most hopper dryers. Vayuvents provides airflow calculations for your specific plastic material and production rate.
Yes. Vayuvents supplies hot air blowers for PET preform reheating ovens in blow moulding lines where precise and uniform heating of PET preforms before blowing is critical for bottle wall thickness uniformity and mechanical properties.
